Common Causes of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The most common carpal tunnel symptoms include the following:

  • Repetitive Motion Injuries: Repeated compression of the median nerve from activities like typing or gaming can cause swelling, inflammation, and pain.
  • Poor Ergonomics & Posture: Improper wrist positioning during computer use increases pressure on the median nerve, leading to discomfort.
  • Underlying Health Conditions: Conditions like arthritis or diabetes can narrow the carpal tunnel, causing inflammation, weak grip, and hand pain.
  • Pregnancy & Hormonal Changes: Hormonal changes during pregnancy may cause fluid retention, increasing pressure on the median nerve.

Comprehensive Carpal Tunnel Treatment at Zaker Chiropractic

Chiropractic Care for Carpal Tunnel

Chiropractic treatment for carpal tunnel focuses on the alignment and function of the wrist, elbow, and spine. By using gentle adjustments, we reduce nerve compression and enhance mobility and flexibility, helping relieve symptoms effectively.

Decompression Therapy for Nerve Relief

A misaligned spine can cause nerve-related issues that extend beyond just back pain. A chiropractor for carpal tunnel uses decompression therapy to ease pressure on the spine, potentially reducing nerve irritation that contributes to carpal tunnel symptoms.

Massage Therapy for Muscle and Nerve Relaxation

Carpal tunnel treatment in Newport Beach, Torrance, San Pedro, and Racho Palos Verdes may include specialized massage therapy, such as myofascial release. This helps relax the tendons in the wrist and forearm, reducing inflammation and improving blood circulation for lasting relief.

Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) for Severe Cases

We offer MUA-based carpal tunnel treatment in Torrance, San Pedro, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Newport Beach. This approach breaks up excessive scar tissue and adhesions, relieving patients who haven’t fully recovered with standard chiropractic adjustments.

Pilates for Strength and Flexibility

The forearm plank is a Pilates-based exercise that engages your core while supporting a portion of your body weight for an extended period. This movement helps strengthen the wrists, improve flexibility, encourage proper posture, and reduce strain on the carpal tunnel.

Pain Management Techniques for Carpal Tunnel Relief

Effective wrist pain treatment for carpal tunnel may include therapeutic exercises, postural corrections, and lifestyle modifications to relieve discomfort and prevent recurrence. The best approach is determined by the severity of the pain, medical history, and overall health.

Personal Training for Injury Prevention

Our carpal tunnel treatment in San Pedro, Rancho Palos Verdes, Newport Beach, and Torrance includes one-on-one workout sessions with an experienced personal trainer (PT). Your PT will focus on correcting muscle imbalances and postural issues in your arms, wrists, and hands.

Best Massages

As if they needed another 5-star review, so I'm sorry to be redundant but this place really is the best and I've been to many chiropractic places. Dr. Zaker knows exactly which spots to hit and Robert gives the best massages. I've been coming here regularly for almost two years about once a week and the quality has been consistent. It's the highlight of my week. My only hope is they expand their facility. There's a lot of people sometimes, but I guess that's a good problem for them to have!

Saved from surgery!

“When I first visited Dr. Zaker I was in very bad shape, I had received many injections in the past that were not doing the job. My pain was still there every day, in morning and all throughout the day. The next step for me was surgery recommended to me by two of the surgeons that I visited. When I found out about spinal decompression for my low back I figured I would give it a try because it was my last option. After the first treatment I was very sore but by treatment number 15 approximately 80% of my shooting pain was gone. Dr. Zakers decompression table is nothing like I have seen before. It not only targets the low back but also targets a specific level where the herniation is and also the side it is on. I was saved from surgery.”

Changed everything.

“After Dr. Zaker ordered my MRI in my neck and we discussed the results, it was obvious to me that my issues were serious. I had a 6mm herniation in my neck at multiple levels. Based on what my brother went through with pretty much the same problem I figured I would end up with a fusion just like him and would have to live with pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Zaker introduced me to the spinal decompression machine and it changed everything. After about 11 or 12 visits all of the tingling in my hands were gone. Although we were also treating me with stretches, muscles work, and strengthening the decompression table seemed to play an enormous real in keeping me out of surgery.”

Great Work!

"After Dr. Zaker ordered my MRI and the results came back that I had a few herniated discs in my low back I thought I would need surgery. Dr. Zaker told me that he had just added a spinal decompression table in his office. The first three or four times I tried it I did not see much of a difference, but after the 5th visit the radiating sciatic pain down my leg started alleviating and by the time I was on my 15th treatment over 80% of the pain and tingling was gone. I am thankful that new advancements in technology can give patients like me other options other than surgery.”
